Jackie Porter Jackie is an Indianapolis native who began private dance lessons at the age of 5. Her dance training later led to membership in the color guard at Center Grove High School. This experience increased her exposure to multiple dance forms and with continued dance training and classes, led to joining IUPUI’s dance program as a dance minor in 2006. Also an Art major at the Herron School of Art and Design within IUPUI, she was a member of “The Moving Company”, IUPUI’s dance performance ensemble. As a featured performer, she received high accolades for her solo choreography and performances within the ensemble. While continuing the pursuit of her Bachelors degree at IU’s Bloomington campus, she began teaching dance in studio settings and with local high school color guard programs and acting as a guest performer in various settings.
Jackie also acts as a color guard and dance instructor and choreographer within several high school programs in the Indianapolis area and has helped to lead several programs to state championships and national championship participation. While also teaching inside the Evolution Dance Academy, Jackie is also our Enrollment Coordinator and manages our social media presence. She really loves to study the art of dance and find new ways to teach children of all ages in the pursuit of education and fun.
